This salt mine facility is near a small Ukrainian village solotvyno, close to the Romanian border. Althoguh salt is no longer mined here, its still far from deserted.

It is now used to treat allergys,Such as asthma. It uses a technique called speleotherapyThis
therapy was discovered in Poland in the 1950s when it was noticed that salt mine workers rarely suffered from tuberculosis.

''Scientists found that the salt-permeated air of the working salt mine helped to dissolve phlegm in the bronchial tubes and also killed the micro-organisms which caused infections''

It can hold up to 200 people at any time. These 'patients' stay over night and usually read, talk or just sleep in the beds provided.

Though it may be helping people it doesnt stop the eeriness creeping through the lit up tunnels that are over 300 metres below ground level. I cant help but compare it to the tunnels of ''The hills have eyes 2''. Personally i'd prefer and inhaler to this 'alternative' method.
